Zap’s proxy feature is an easy way for brokers and company administrators to see just what their company’s agents are seeing in Zap.
How do I proxy as another user?
- When you’re signed in to Zap on desktop, click on your name or photo in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
- Right beneath your name in the drop down menu, you should see a field labeled “Proxy as user.” Start typing the name of an agent or other personnel in that field, and then select their name from the list of options that appears.
- Once you’ve clicked on a user’s name, the page will reload and you’ll see that user’s name and photo in the upper right hand corner of your screen, along with a green tag that says “Proxying.”
What are some things I can do while proxied as another user?
There are plenty of things you can do while viewing Zap as another user – and they can help you understand an agent’s engagement, troubleshoot problems, and much more.
- While proxied, you can view pages that that user can view (like “Contacts” and “My Website”)
- You can view ZapScore information and activity for your agent’s Contacts – which can help you identify windows of opportunity for your agent to reach out.
- You can view things like the Contact History, lists of appointments and requests, and more, so you can see how active an agent is.
What actions can I do while proxied as another user?
There are several things that you can change/update for an agent. Most of these actions are in the My Website section:
- Profile and Cover Photo
- Personal Statement
- Professional Info
- Youtube Video
- Linking a transaction
- About Me
- SEO Playbook
- Website Tracking
What can’t I do while proxied as another user?
There are some things you won’t be able to do on behalf of your agents – they’ll need to be signed into their own accounts to authorize those actions.
- You can’t add Contacts for your agent.
- You can’t send emails on your agent’s behalf. In order to help agents and Contacts maintain their individual relationships, agents will need to be signed into their own accounts to send any emails.
- You can’t edit contact information, like email addresses and phone numbers, for your agent’s Contacts.
Another important thing to note: when you’re proxied as a user, that may carry over to the Community. It’s easy to accidentally post under the name of the agent you’re troubleshooting for. Whenever you’re ready to go back to viewing Zap (and the Community) as yourself, make sure to go back to the top right corner of Zap, click on the agent’s name, and select “Exit Proxy”.
